It is your responsibility to ensure that your information on record is current and up to date. Insurance companies may repudiate your claim if your information is incorrect or you don’t provide the correct information on the claim form.
Avoid delays in the processing of claims by ensuring you take note of the following:
- Improper identification – typical mistakes include incomplete personal contact information or incorrect references to the brokerage firm involved in the claim.
- Missed deadlines – check with your In2 Insurance Broker to determine any applicable deadlines on your policy when submitting insurance claims.
- Incorrect entries – this is where discussion with your In2 Insurance Broker will benefit you most and he or she will explain exactly what it is that can be claimed and how to put such information in the claim form.
- Missing attachments – you must attach copies of all key documents that are relevant to your claim. Failure to attach such documents may result in delays or even, in some cases, denial of claims.
- Originals of attachments -you should never submit original documents with your claim especially if claims are being fowarded in hard copy to the insurer. Originals that are lost in the mail may be difficult or even impossible to replace timeously. Make copies of all your attachments and then submit the copies of the attachments.
